Having problems getting started? In this section you will find detailed instructions on how to set up your dkVistun account or iTap client. If you can't find answers to your questions there, please have a look at our FAQ section. If you still haven't been able to find an answer to your question, please send us a support request and we will come back to you as soon as we're able.

Remote Desktop Setup for Windows

You can run the setup program for dkVistun by clicking here
The setup program is easy to run and installs all related software and components needed to use dkVistun

If any components are missing, the setup program will start by installing what is required to complete the setup.

Choose "Next" and tick the box: "I accept the terms in the license agreement"
on the first three windows that appear on the screen.



When you have followed the wizard and run the setup, it is likely that you will be asked to restart the computer. If this is the case, agree and restart.
When the company is back up and running, the dkVistun installation will begin.

Installing dkVistun.

This is how you install dkVistun.
Choose "Next" on the next two screens that pop up and tick the box: "I accept...." and then "Next"
Then choose: "Install" to run the installation.




Confirming registration for dkVistun.

To confirm your registration you have to input the customer ID and username you received from dkVistun and click OK.

 

When you have completed the setup process a remote desktop icon will appear on your desktop called "dkVistun".
You can always alter the settings by going to: "Start->Programs->dkVistun->dkVistun Setup"

Remote Desktop Setup for Mac OS X

The Itap software is our preferred remote desktop client for Mac OS X. This piece of software has proved to be better and more stable than other alternatives and is constantly being developed and improved.

Please note that the software costs 20 EUR

The first step is to download Itap for MAC:

When you have downloaded the software you must configure iTap to work for you.

1. In the first window click "New"



2. The next step is to input the information shown on the screen below and your username and password.


3. The next step is to input the Gateway security information. You do this by clicking on the image next to Gateway on the screenshot above. 

Then you enter the information shown on the screen below as well as the username and password you received from dkVistun.



4. To activate the F1-F12 buttons on your keyboard within dkVistun you must change the keyboard settings on the MAC operating system.

You do this by going to System Preferences -> Keyboard and tick "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys..."



5. You can connect dkVistun to your local machine using iTap to enable you to save files directly to your local drives.

Click "Edit" in the main window and select Redirection


Then you tick "Enable folder redirection" and add a path to an existing folder or create a new one.

Known issues with older versions of iTap (v. 1.1.4)

The keyboard is set to the wrong language in dkVistun
When you are connected to dkVistun you will see the selected language in the bottom right hand corner of the screen (Taskbar) abbreviated as EN, IS, FR etc..

Solution: When you have dkVistun open, double click on the input language and change it to your preferred language.

The keyboard is stuck on CAPS LOCK in dkVistun
If your keyboard is stuck on CAPS LOCK and will not revert back to lower case letters even when you press CAPS LOCK again.

Solution: Click your mouse outside the dkVistun window (for example on your local desktop) and press CAPS LOCK once. This should make your keyboard work normally again in dkVistun.

dk Business Solutions is "not responding"
This can occur when a window is hidden behind the dk screen. To get dk to start working again you can try clicking on, or hovering over the dk icon on your taskbar. The Microsoft way to do this is to press ALT+TAB on your keyboard which enables you to skip between open windows on your desktop.

I can‘t see my printers in dkVistun
There are two common reasons why this happens. (1) if your computer has recently been formatted and the dkVistun icon was deleted, you might need to run the setup program again to install the print client, ThinPrint. (2) the ThinPrint client is not set to pick up your preferred printers. If you go to the start menu and open ThinPrint, you will see a list of printers and a tick box in front of the ones that are chosen to be active in dkVistun. I can‘t see my local drives in dkVistun
Many people choose to save their dk documents on their local desktops. If your local drives aren‘t selected in dkVistun you have to right click on the dkVistun icon on your desktop and select "Edit". If part of the screen is hidden you must select "Options" on the window that appears. Then you choose the tab "Local Resources" and choose "More" and tick the box in front of "Drives". This will connect your local drives to dkVistun. Finally, in order to save the settings, go to the tab labelled "General" and choose "Save" to save the changes.

Managing your remote desktop screen
To choose between using one or ore screens in dkVistun you have to right-click on the dkVistun icon on your desktop and select "Edit". Then click on the tab "Display" and tick "Use all my monitors" if you want to use more than one monitor, alternatively you remove the tick if you wish to use only one. Finally, in order to save the settings, go to the tab labelled "General" and choose "save" to save the changes.

How can I change saved user information?
To remove a saved password in dkVistun you have to right-click on the dkVistun icon on your desktop and choose "Edit". Press "delete" below the password to remove it.

How can I choose my default printer?
To set a new printer as default in dkVistun you have to go into: Start > All Programs > ThinPrint. There you choose "Configure". If the tick box "Use this printer" is ticked you must change it and tick the box "Inherits system‘s default printer". This means the printer selected as default on your local computer becomes your default printer in dkVistun.
